Yield Not To Your Own Understanding

• Let’s start the New Year as a new creature, not just a believer, but a new creature in Christ learning not to yield to our own understanding of God’s plan of Salvation for your soul.
• Yield means here to give way to arguments, demands, or pressure; submit to; surrender to; backdown to; quit; give in to; permit to.
• Don’t yield to the demands of your flesh and its nature that is governed by Satan (the devil), the knowledge of good and evil influenced through and by your 5-sense knowledge.
• Come on, let’s grow in Christ spiritually this year!

Proverbs 3:5-7 5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

• Lean means to tend or move toward in opinion, taste, or desire; depend; to bend or rest on; relying on your own insight or understanding in Christ.
• The Word of God tells us to not forget the Law of the Lord God, but let your heart keep His commandments. In doing so, length of days, long life, and peace shall be added to you.
• As born-again new creatures in Christ don’t let mercy, kindness, and truth forsake you so bind them about your neck, write them upon the tables of your heart.
• In your transformation as a new creature in Christ learn how to shut out/shut down all hatred and selfishness; shut out all deliberate hypocrisy or falsehood, falseness that is in your heart from your old nature and its way.
• In doing so you will find favor, good understanding, and high esteem in the sight and judgment of God and man.
• With all your heart learn to lean on, trust in, and be confident in the God of your Salvation and the Bishop of your soul with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
• As a new creature in Christ, you must get your old stony heart replaced by God for a new fleshly heart of stone and a new spirit that comes equipped for the new creature in you to abide in, live in, and have a spiritual lifestyle in Christ.

Ezekiel 36:26-27 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put My spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes, and ye shall keep My judgments, and do them.

• In and under your old nature you had no knowledge of good and truth, only the knowledge of good and evil.
• In and under your old nature you tried to anticipate, dictate, and manipulate God’s Way, but as a new creature in Christ being transformed daily to become the pattern of Christ Jesus you no longer can or have a desire to reject, dictate, manipulate, or anticipate the Will of God and His Way to counteract it.
• Being transformed is your born-again awakening experience!
• This is not a spiritual awakening that you can confess and accept, then return to your old way of living and doing.
• In being reborn-again is like the natural birthing process only it is spiritual, you are being birth by the Spirit of God through His Womb.
• In and under your old nature you had no knowledge, no understanding, and no spiritual way; you had no spiritual knowledge, no spiritual understanding, no spiritual wisdom, no spiritual discernment of the Spirituality of Our Father until He spiritually attracted you and gave you a desire to come to Jesus and become like Jesus, and He began to teach us His Way through His Son Jesus.
• When the Spirit teaches you, He gives knowledge and understanding with wisdom to apply the knowledge and understanding of Him and His Will.
• We all must and will have to learn His Way and not “try” to be smart and advance our way in Him without spirituality.
• Yielding not to my own understanding but to the Ways of God through Christ is the way of a sheep.
• “Trying” to bend a little through your own motives will not get you the fullness of being transformed as a new creature.
• “Trying” to incorporate your Will in its knowledge of good and evil through your 5-senses will annul (declare invalid) the new creature process in you.
• The devil wants to use your old nature and its past to overthrow and take over God’s plan and pleasures in you deceitfully.
• The devil wants to take God’s place over your soul and its destiny in all things and everything that pertains to you in life and godliness; that is your encounters and experiences with Christ and in Christ.
• You through the choice of your Will and its acceptance of God’s Way must not yield to your own understanding in doing so.
• Yielding to your own understanding will stop the process of you becoming a new creature, spiritually growing to become a son like the Son of God.
• As a spirit being in Christ your theology is the Spirit of the Word translated and taught by the Spirit of God, not by natural men that have acquired a knowledge of God through their own naturalness with no true encounters and experiences that they will truthfully share or make known.
• Today’s belief is no different from the Old Testament priest, high priest, scribes, Pharisees, Sadducees, Sanhedrin, and teachers that had a knowledge incorporated with their feelings and opinion of God and His Law influenced by the knowledge of good and evil, with an appearance of being close to God. Having a form of godliness that denied the actual power of God manifested.
• The Sanhedrin consisted of two political parties: the Pharisees and the Sadducees (Acts 4:5-6) and these two parties opposed each other.
• Today they would be like being Republican, Democrat, Conservative or Liberal operating in the same spirit today.
• Jesus said that they made the Word of God void and that they were making disciples of Hell. Jesus rebuked them many times.
• Today that same spirit is using many Apostles, Bishops, Prophets, Pastors, Evangelist, Elders, and witnesses. These are better known as hirelings!

Romans 8:3-4 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

• Jesus came as a quickening Spirit for the Law of the Spirit of Life in Him to make all mankind free from the law of sin and death.
• So, your flesh can and will never be able to be saved or assist your spirit into being saved.
• The nature of all flesh, everyone’s flesh is sin.
• The nature of all human flesh is filled with unrighteousness, Galatians 5:19-21 the works of the flesh.
• Flesh is the nature we received in our physical birth; spirit is the nature that we receive in our second birth as a new creature, being born-again (St John 3:5-6).
• So, when we yield to our own understanding and its self-righteousness you are not yielding to the Will of God but to your Will in the knowledge of good and evil, what you think, feel, and believe which is not of Christ.
• We must remember what the Word of God says about the old nature when you become a new creature in Christ. Everything the Word of God says about the flesh is negative. In the flesh there is no good thing, (Romans 7:18); the flesh profits nothing, (St John 6:63); being born-again we are to put no confidence in the flesh, (Philippians 3:3); we are to make no provisions for the flesh, (Romans 13:14).
• Living in the flesh as a born-again believer, being transformed is living a negative life that is portraying a lie.
• In this life living in human bodies every one of us will have both natures and access to them based upon the choice of our Will: the old nature which is flesh and the new nature which is spirit. And what a battle these two natures will wage in this life!
• The world, the flesh, and the devil appeal to normal appetites and tempt us to satisfy them in forbidden ways.
• Today we are all surrounded by all kinds of allurements that appeals to the lower nature and with the flesh being weak it will cause you as a new creature in Christ to sin.
• The three (3) systems of this world to trap the believers in Christ: the lust (desire) of the flesh, the lust of the eyes (pleasures that gratify the sight and the mind), and the pride of life (desires to make one wise) (1 John 2:16; Genesis 3:6 the same devices that entrapped Eve in the Garden).
• This is anything that appeals to the fallen state of man’s nature.
• Faithfulness rewarded comes from standing in, on, and with the standards of the Word of God; being bold to speak truth; live in truth with a lifestyle of truth; yielding to truth not with compromising motives of the lower (old) nature and its past.
• Therefore, the spirit of the Word must be permitted to mortify then crucify the Will of your flesh.
• The Spirit of the Word can do it! Because without the Spirit flesh has no animation (liveliness) and without the blood flesh has no life for the life of the flesh is in the blood, (Leviticus 17:11). And these two things are taken away by the Spirit of God and His permissive Will, not by the natural man.
• Therefore, the Spirit of the Word of God has the power and authority over all God creates to bring it back to its originality, to restore, and renew it back to His manufactured state created in. It’s all in the Spirit of the Word perceived and accepted.
• So, the Spirit of the Word can control the Will of man when he yields to the Will of God by allowing God to take the reigns of his heart. God does this by replacing the old heart with a new heart and a new spirit.
• The old heart of stone is filled with evil imaginations, evil thoughts continuously, Genesis 6:5.
• Eating really is the reason and hindrance to man’s soul returning to God and His Will willingly, obediently, and faithfully.
• Just looking up some of the survey’s done I calculated the time we all at some point or another spend eating, which was the downfall of man in the beginning.
• About 1 hour and a half primarily eating and drinking at least 2-3 times daily; additional 30-60 minutes spent eating while doing something else.
• Among men or women in food preparation it could take roughly up to 2 hours to prepare food.
• Secondary eating or distracted eating, that is sitting down working at your desk or eating while driving; most popular activities like watching television and movies add up to about 30-60 more minutes in a day of eating.
• Primary eating and drinking come to roughly a total of 3 hours twice a day equals 6 hours; 4.5 hours three times a day equals 13.5 hours per day.
• Additional times eating while doing something else included with the primary eating and drinking is about 4 hours total for twice a day eating and drinking; about 5.5 hours three times a day.
• This will be a problem when consecrating yourself before the Lord through fasting and praying.
• Fasting is a voluntary abstinence from food; to abstain from eating.
• Fasting is not a requirement, but it is a reasonable service of every born-again new creature in Christ.
• Reasonable service means that is only reasonable, or right, that we do this as God deserves it from us all.
• Fasting is one of the quickest means (ways) to get in a spiritual state as it mortifies (subdue the body by self-denial or discipline) and crucifies (to put it to death as in nailing it to your cross) your flesh, its lust, habits, practices, and desires.
• Fasting is a quick way through the Word of God and its understanding to get into the Presence and Order of God so that He will speak to you and give you the instructions of His Will toward you; He will give you knowledge and understanding of His Will with Wisdom to apply it.
• Fasting opens you up to the spirit being that you are. It is really your portal to your spirituality to experience your Heavenly Father in Spirit and in Truth.
• Practicing fasting and prayer are a good technique that teaches us how to stay spiritual and how to walk in the Spirit, by the Spirit, and after the Spirit of the Word of God, its instructions, and guidelines.
• When you are struggling with spirituality go on a fast and don’t yield to your own understanding in the process of being made Christ like.
• Being processed to be transformed to be like Christ is not a part of your own understanding because it is spiritual processing.
• Being processed to be transformed to be like Christ requires fasting and praying; praising and worship; studying to accept the Will of God which is in the Word of God; fellowship with those that are of the same faith as you watch the new creature in you respond to the entire process.
• Your flesh will never respond to this spiritual processing that is designed only for the new creature, which is spiritual, except when it is pretending, imitating, mocking, and being deceitful just to say, “I got it too”.
• Fasting commends us to God, to the Word of His Grace which can build us up in Christ and give us an inheritance among them that are sanctified. (Acts 20:32).
• Fasting humbles the awakened soul, not a soul that is still dead sleep.
• Fasting is not an agenda of man! But traditionally it becomes his agenda when he needs something that is of the natural and carnal from God making his motive and not God’s intent a priority.
• Fasting seem to be a common practice when we want something from God or to get Him to do something that is not of His Will.
• The Spirit of God will lead you into fasting for the suffering for Christ namesake. He is the one that will call you to a fast in order to obtain certain spiritual levels in Him, not for just physical and natural gain.
• Before and during your consecration the Spirit of God will give you instructions to fasting.
• Christ Jesus taught the need of purity and simplicity of motive.
• Eating and drinking certain types of food or drink is not a fast, but a denial. A denial is not the abstinence of food, it’s only a lack of supplying food.
