Feelings Who cares about how you feel? Does God care about your feelings? Or does the devil care more about your feelings? Why does everyone saved, unsaved, back sliders, atheist, spirit guides, witchcraft workers, etc., all feel God? What is it about “feelings” that lead so many into believing that they are right and in right standing with God?

Feelings
• Feelings are subjective “self-contained phenomenal experiences”. Phenomenal means perceptible by the senses or through immediate experience.
• Feelings are subjective, evaluative, and independent of the sensations, thoughts, or images evoking them.
• Feelings are closely related to, but not the same as emotion.
• Feelings may refer to the conscious (aware of and responding to one’s external surroundings; awake) subjective experiences of emotions.
• Feelings are not spiritual!
• Feelings are a result of your body registering information from your 5-senses experiencing physical and external reactions.
• Feelings are just a project of bodily experience.
• Feelings are like an instant reaction of the body.
• Feelings and emotions seem to be considered as the same because they can be felt through the body, but they are not the exact same.
• It seems to me that it is negative or positive feelings that generate an emotion(s).
• It seems to me that feelings are consciously driven, and emotions are subconsciously driven.
• Hebrews 4:15 tells us that Jesus can be touched with the feeling of our infirmities (physical and mental weaknesses) and liabilities (burden, handicap, hindrance to sin) to the assaults of temptation during His earthly life. He was also tempted in every respect just as we are, yet without sin because He had flesh.
• Jesus demonstrated the conquering of the Will of His flesh and its nature to do the Will of the Father.
• The carnal mind and its imaginations come up with all kinds of thoughts and images as to say that Jesus did these things too.
• Jesus has empathy for mankind. He demonstrated the ability to understand and share the feelings and emotions of all mankind as if He was feeling man’s feelings and emotions Himself, yet He was without sin.
Emotions
• Emotion is a mental state that arises spontaneously rather than through conscious effort and is often accompanied by physiological changes.
• Physiological is relating to the way in which a living organism or bodily part functions. These functions are carried out by organs, tissues, and cells of the body. Physiological functions occur without conscious self-control.
• Emotions are a result of the details as they are perceived by the heart (the brain of the heart).
• Emotions are a topic of controversary for man.
• Emotions come from the heart since your heart plays an important role in emotional experiences.
• Jesus said that the heart is the center of the life of man and that which comes out of man’s heart is what defiles man.
• St Mark 7:20-23 20 And He said, that which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. 21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness; 23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. (St Matthew 15:18-21).
• God said in the beginning that His Spirit shall not always dwell and strive with man for he is also flesh. Genesis 6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
• All of man’s thinking will produce evil thoughts and evil imaginations continually without God and His Spirit possessing, controlling, and dwelling in him.
• Emotions are primarily impulses that motivate you to act upon the thoughts that are subconsciously thought.
Love as an example. Not lust, but true genuine love!
• Lust is a feeling. Lust is a sensual appetite regarded as sinful. Lust is not just having a strong sexual desire for someone but is also feeling a strong desire for something.
• For example, love is not a feeling, but a choice.
• Love is strong and complex. It is a mix of emotions, behaviors, beliefs associated with strong feelings of affection, protectiveness, warmth, and respect for another and others.
• 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
• Love is a force generated by a decision. You MUST choose to love.
• Love is an act of the Will, not some kind of emotional concoction.
• Remember the spirit man in you lost consciousness of the spiritual things of God when Adam and Eve rebelled against God, which caused us all to be born in sinful flesh with the nature of sin and born spiritually dead-spiritually unconscious to the things of God.
• In man’s loss of consciousness, the spirit man in you lost all self-control that is to be unable to control your feelings and actions. Man lost the ability to stay balanced.
• The gift of Will is our balance that which God created in us and given by God.
• The nature of Will implies self-control, that which we lost due to sin.
• You can decide to love your enemy. Jesus said to do so. St Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
• We obey a command out of our Will, not out of your feelings.
• The Word of God is God’s commands to the spirit man.
• Love has no feelings!
• If God responded to us from the way, He felt about what we did to Him we would not be redeemed today.
• Feelings are a chemical and chemicals change every 5 seconds.
• So, if I love you because I feel like I love you, I may lose that love in about 5 mins or less.
• When married people fall out of love that means the chemical has changed.
• Love is a debt I owe. Romans 13:8 Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
• For example, most of the time when we owe people we don’t always feel like paying them. We don’t feel debt, but we choose based upon our integrity to pay them or pay the bill because you are obligated to pay them.
• Love is a law! Laws have no feelings!
• For example, sometimes you may feel like running a red light because you are late, but the natural law says stop. Your feelings have nothing to do with this law.
• If you love your children, you will chasten them, even though you feel for them you cannot allow your feelings to get in the way of their discipline. Proverbs 13:24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes (early; sometimes; on occasion; before the usual or expected time).
• Why? Because I love you so much, I don’t want you to go this way. That is love!
• St John 13:34-35 34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
• St John 14:15 If ye love Me, keep My commandments.
• Jesus brought the Law of Love.
Sex is not an example of love.
• Don’t ever consider sex as love! Love is not philia (self-love); eros (that is sexual, fleshly love; sex gadgets, etc.); agape love (love for humanity, contributing to); storge love (affection between family and family members).
• And if you are compromising with family and family members in their wrong and spiritual weakness that is not love.
• Society and the world call sex “making love”. Making love means that love it does not exist. They make love for about 30-45 minutes, then afterwards they don’t want to even speak to or talk to you for weeks. That is not love!
• Love is a spiritual fruit! Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace…
• Love always requires another as an object. If you love and love others, you automatically love yourself because you are love and full of love so you are not excluded.
• Self-love is a worldly terminology and a way of the flesh and the devil.
• Love cannot remain within itself, and this is the part that makes love the greatest gift.
• 1 Corinthians 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three: but the greatest of these is charity.
• The Word of God teaches us that God is love. And he that dwells in love dwells in God and God in him. In this love is made perfect. (1 John 2:16-21).
God’s presence.
• The presence of God is not a feeling, but an emotional response of affection and worship from the soul and spirit realm of the spirit man.
• The flesh feels through the 5-senses in the body realm of the spirit man.
• The flesh has a sinful nature! The nature that we were all born in.
• The flesh is influenced, operates, and functions according to the kingdom of darkness that is run by Satan, the devil, or whatever you want to call him.
• The kingdom of darkness manages, operates, and functions in and through the knowledge of good and evil.

In closing,
• While emotions are intangible and hard to describe, even for scientists but they do serve important purposes to help us learn, initiate our actions and reactions, and survive.
• Emotions increase the likelihood that you will take an action. When you get angry, you are likely to confront the source of your irritation.
• When you experience fear, you are more likely to flee the threat.
• When you feel love, you might seek out a partner.
• Emotions serve as adaptive role by prompting you to act quickly and take actions that will maximize your chances of survival and success. Decisions are based on emotion rather than logic (uses reasons).
• The flesh uses reasons for doing, not doing, etc.
• Emotions can help a decision-maker determine which aspects of a decision are the most relevant to their specific situation, issue, or circumstances at hand; whereas feelings will provoke you make an irrational (not logical or reasonable) decision without considering the consequences of your choice.
• Feelings stem from environmental influences and responses through the 5-senses of the flesh in the knowledge of good and evil.
• But it is the Holy Spirit that comes to dwell in us as new creatures in Christ to govern us, guide, lead, instruct, chasten, convict, correct, and to take over the emotions of the spirit man causing him to become balanced in Christ, as it (He) makes it possible for him to choose the Will of God and no longer his Will without God.
• As new creatures in Christ you must strive and habitually become all that the Lord God has planned and purposed in you while in the earth.
• You are a spirit being encased in a body having human experiences just as Jesus encountered and conquered, well so can we if we are in Christ.
• Christ Jesus is the victor, not us!

Amen
