Apostle Tracey Robinson
1 Corinthians 15:45-49 KJV Amplified
45 Thus it is written, The first man Adam became a living being (an individual personality); the last Adam (Christ) became a life-giving (quickening) Spirit [restoring the dead to life].
46 But it is not the spiritual life which came first, but the physical and then the spiritual.
47 The first man [was] from out of earth, made of dust (earthly minded); the second Man [is] the Lord from out of heaven.
• An individual personality: individual refers to the set of qualities that make a person different from each other; identity [uniqueness; character; oneness; peculiarity; nature; temper]; personality [self-hood; self-identity; independence; singleness; disposition]; individualism [distinctiveness; separateness; singularity; temperament; humor].
• Personality refers to the enduring characteristics and behavior that comprise a person’s unique adjustment to life, including major traits, interest, drives, values, self-concept, abilities, and emotional patterns.
• What is being a living soul? Being a living soul is the ultimate gift of God for man is existence.
• The definition quickening comes into place here according to the KJV meaning to cause (a body or soul) to become alive; vitalize; to excite and stimulate; stir; to become more rapid; to come or return to life, as a soul.
• Your soul is the combination of the physical body and the life-giving spirit of God that makes us human beings. We are perfect and complete in the mind and creation of God.
48 Now those who are made of the dust are like him who was first made of the dust (earthly minded); and as is [the Man] from heaven, so also [are those] who are of heaven (heavenly minded).
49 And just as we have borne the image [of the man] of dust, so shall we and also let us also bear the image [of the Man] of heaven.
Genesis 2:7 KJV Amplified Then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath or spirit of life, and man became a living being.
• This is the time of year and season where we all celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We all as born-again believers in Christ should be experiencing and encountering the glory of the resurrected life of Jesus Christ in you as a spirit being.
• Based upon the scriptures read the spirit man in you was/is earthly minded but can be also spiritually (heavenly) minded.
• Man developed two natures in his heart due to the (sin) rebellion of Adam and Eve in the Garden.
• Jesus Christ came, and His work was done, portrayed, and given by God to all mankind so that we will know that we can be heavenly minded and earthly good, with the instructions, guidance, and leadings from the Lord God Himself through His Holy Spirit dwelling in you.
Romans 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh.
• Jesus came to show us how to get the job done according to the Will of God.
• See God’s plan does not leave it up to us on what, when, how, where, and how with being a new creature in Christ.
• The plan of Salvation is God’s blueprint for the soul’s return to God, along with the behavior, mannerism, attitude, etc., that we all should display, portray, and do.
• Soul is the life principle or animating principle of the body.
• The heart according to the Bible is a part of the spirit man’s spiritual makeup.
• The heart is the place where our emotions and desires begin; the heart drives the Will of man towards his actions. It is the spiritual heart that drives man’s behavior.
• The heart of the soulish man is seated below in the soul and is known as the subconscious mind.
• The physical heart is an organ that pumps blood throughout the body.
Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
• Since we are no longer practicing the Law it is now fasting that deadens (mortify) the flesh for its crucifixion to make atonement for our soul, individually and personally.
• The Law of God was given to the children of Isarel to help them to live a holy, godly life and lifestyle and to be different from the pagan nations around them.
• The Law of God promoted good health; kept them away from immoral practices; taught lessons about His Holiness; prevented them from practicing, doing, and resembling idolatry practices, etc.
• The Laws of God was hard for them to follow all of them because they were sinful and disobedient, weak in spirit, and impatient.
• God had the faith that they could follow His Laws, but they had no faith in God and failed to follow His instructions. They had no faith or loyalty to God and God noticed their acts of evil.
• When God noticed the people’s rebellious way of life, God disliked it and their actions. God brought exile upon the people because of their failure to follow instructions. When they realized why they were exiled they would repent, and God would forgive them.
• We know that our spiritual life must start in the heart. God speaks of this in Ezekiel 36:26-27.
• In order to desire what God desires, God must remove the heart of stone and replace it with a heart of flesh.
• This new heart will also kill your flesh and its carnal nature!
• This is a humbling experience, but yet difficult for many to accept and allow, because many typically believe that they are essentially good in their heart and they have to be provoked, coerced, or victimize into sin and its behavior.
• Although Jesus came and said differently in St Mark 7:20-23 when He said that which comes out of the man is what defiles the man. He went on to say that out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, etc., and all these things come from within the heart of man and defile man.
Closing,
• Many of us as born-again believers are trying to still live as Adam did before and after his failure in the Garden, with the opportunity of trying to reap the benefits of living after the Spirit as Jesus did and still walking in the flesh.
• This has and is proved to be hard again for the followers just as it was with the Children of Israel tried to follow God’s Laws.
• The heart of the soulish man is not like the heart of the body.
• The heart of the body pumps blood to the organs of the body only.
• The heart of soul is the thinking heart, the decision-making heart.
• The heart of Adam and the heart of Jesus were at one time the same after their likeness until Adam’s sin.
• Man must come back to God in accordance with God’s Will and not his.
• God will have it that all men be saved and come into the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:4.
• But God requires His Way! Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.
• He is the reason a lot of men cannot gravitate to Him because He has not come to dwell in your heart and soul, because we are too busy waiting for His return and the rapture, when in fact He has come if you have allowed Him to enter your heart.
• Adam was made a living soul; Jesus was made a quickening spirit to bring life back to the soul of man.
• There is a natural heart and there is a spiritual heart. Which one do you choose daily to operate and function from?
• When God replaces your heart with His new heart of flesh you will then look back on those sinful, evil, and wicked things and be ashamed and sickened to the fact that you have been made aware of these things and you done them against God. But repentance is possible through a changed heart.
• In order to be made perfect in the Will of God, keep and follow all His commandments we must choose to come into His Light to see all that we have tried to hide from Him, repent, forgive, and surrender them all to Him.
1 John 1:5-10 Read out loud.
• Your spiritual life begins in your new heart, and it begins with God.
• God is not giving you something that He does not have. This is how He created man in His image, after their likeness to function and operate just as He is in the earth. (Acts 13:22, God has a Will, a heart, emotions, and a soul also).
Amen
