Ephesians 2:1-9
1 And you hath He quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
• It is you that the Spirit of God has made alive, when He spiritually attracted you, drew you to Himself, and gave you a desire to come to Jesus to be raised up from your dead at the last day. (St John 6:44).
• This is an experience with spiritual encounters that every born again, new creature must have.
• Remember Salvation is individual and personal!
• Jesus comes as a quickening spirit to soul to give us the life we need to live a reconciled life and lifestyle that shows the redeeming power of Christ Jesus in us becoming sons.
• Jesus must come in our life as a quickening Spirit for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus is to set us free from the law of sin and death that once had us in bondage.
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
• Time past is a time that should no longer be present with you as a new creature in Christ; time past is your recent past.
• It is the old way of your old man’s nature that walked in sin and disobedience.
• Your old way includes your Will, your mind, and your way of doing.
• Course of this world refers to the system of things that is conducted by those who have regard only to things seen and temporal, with no regard toward God or their life to come.
• The course of this world is the spirit of worldliness that lures, tempts, influence, and moves people from God that has been redeemed and to keep blinding those that have not been redeemed to still conduct themselves in their lust, fulfilling the desires of their flesh and mind through their/your feelings, and putting themselves under the wrath of God.
• The prince of the power of the air is ruled by the evil and wicked spiritual powers that work in the children of disobedience.
• St John 12:31-32 31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. 32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me.
• The children of disobedience” refers to the nonbelievers who are associated with God’s wrath.
• They are those that reject the TOTAL Will of God and will not lift 4edsxthe name of Jesus and are still under the influence of sin and disobedience.
• Note: You can also say you are saved but live and operate in disobedient.
• Believing and trying to do a part of the Word of God still makes you a child of disobedience.
3 Among whom also we all had our conversations in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
• As born-again new creatures in Christ our conversations should no longer be as we once lived and conducted ourselves in the passions of our flesh and its feelings influenced by the knowledge of good and evil in your past old nature.
• Colossians 4:6 Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
• James 5:12 But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.
• St Matthew 5:37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
• Romans 14:16-17 16 Let not then your good be evil spoken of: 17 For the Kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
• “Were by nature the children of wrath” means that by nature all mankind is deserving of God’s wrath.
• Due to our sinful nature and being spiritually dead toward God and the things of God we are inherently (essential character of something) inclined to disobey God and live according to our own desires.
• In order for God to get the victory over your ALL you must know and accept the fact that we were all born in sin because of rebellion (sin), but God through His grace and mercy gave us a way out of our sin through Jesus.
• We no longer possessed the nature or image of God that we were once created in due to sin. We must obtain it back according to the Will of God and His Righteousness, and not ours.
• Learning to put on the whole armour of God is a necessity for every new creature in Christ because Satan’s power is spiritual, it is not carnal and is not against flesh and blood, and it cannot not be physically fought.
• Flesh is what Satan uses to influence, lust against, and fight against the Will of God for you.
• Flesh is what Satan uses to cause you to doubt the Will of God for you.
• It is not in your heart as a sense to be combative with the devil or go toe-to-toe with him and his tactics. Only the Spirit of God is the match for Satan!
• It is not a sense in our heart to change ourselves from ungodly to being holy and righteous. Only the Spirit of God can do this!
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith He loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved);
• God through Jesus has given us all a complete resurrection from the death of sin to a life of righteousness in Him through Jesus.
• His resurrection from the grave is our resurrection to a spiritual life in Him. This is the revelation Christ Jesus in you!
• We were all spiritually dead, born in sin!
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
• Salvation comes and is designed to spiritually put you in Christ.
• Salvation is your spiritual awakening!
• Salvation is God’s righteousness at work in us to reconcile us back to Himself.
7 That in the ages to come He might shew the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
• “In the ages to come” refers to our foundational eternal home in eternal Heaven or eternal Hell.
• It is used to distinguish between your mortal life on earth (this age) and your immortal life in eternal Heaven or eternal Hell, but you choose.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
• Salvation is a gift from God! There is nothing you can do in works or deeds to earn this.
• There is no good that you can do or come up with to earn this gift of Salvation.
• It is our faith in Christ that earns us this grace. It will bring us into the perfection of God’s Will to obtain the faith of Jesus in Jesus.
• The means of Salvation is faith made possible by the Grace of God.
• So, you must do it God’s way!
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
• “We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works” and to no longer do what we desire or supposed to do without Christ.
• We are God’s perfected work, mastered by God Himself, born from above, now being spiritually transformed back to our authentic self in Him.
• Receiving His good works to accept them by faith, to walk in them, and live a life and lifestyle in them as it was prearranged and created in us from the beginning.
• God has a certain design for each one of us that has already been predestined and prepared for His pleasure in us.
• His workmanship in us displays to the world, the flesh, and the devil His greatness and goodness as a loving Creator.

In closing,
• This is what the Word of God has done for man from his sinful state. According to the Word of God this is the state that we all were born in and still in except we have accepted the Will of God and His Way.
• We all were dead in sin, not to sin but in sin. God sending His only Son to show, tell, and demonstrate His Will and Way for mankind in being reconciled. Only the Word of God has come to enlighten every believer and hearer of the Word, to make them consciencely aware of the fact that we were and are sinners by nature.
• The Bible is so clear that the inhabitants of this world are under the influence of this world with its cunning, deception, and charming spells or you are in Christ under the direct influence of the Spirit of God.
• The Spirit of the Word of God will reveal you and your belief by your fruit.
• Being the offspring of God, we should not think that the Godhead is natural, like or similar to gold, silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s imagination and devices. In the former ages of our ignorance God winked at it, and allowed it to pass unnoticed, but now commands all men (male and female gender) to repent (to change their minds for the better to amend their way) with a hate for their past sins. (Acts 17:29-30).
• You must hate your old life and lifestyle in order to spiritually perceive God’s Will and walk in the newness of life in Christ Jesus.
• St Matthew 21:44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
• The Word of God is not a toy or a game to be played with neither is God!
• The Word of God is the stone!
• The Word of God is God, and it will break you or it will grind you like a powder or dust.
• If you fall on the Word, you will be broken!
