St Luke 14:25-30
25 And there went great multitudes with Him: and He turned, and said unto them,
26 If any man come to Me and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.
• Many believers are stuck here and failing in their Salvation.
27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after Me, cannot be My disciple.
28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,
30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
• How many of you know this is the same thing your family, friends, and frenemies’ say about you when the word got out that you were/are born-again? They laugh, snicker, talk about you, ridicule, constantly reminding you as they remember your past and its issues, but you’ve got to be the one, the only one certain of your new life and its cost as a new creature in Christ. Nobody else is responsible. Nobody else is held accountable.
• The validation of others is null and void!
• Your cost of true spirituality in Christ must be known by you.
• Just as your physical life began with a natural birth so will your spiritual life in Salvation begin with a spiritual birth.
• As a born-again believer in Christ, not a Christian, but a born-again believer being transformed into a new creature by way of your soul is true spirituality and it will cost you.
• The cost of true spirituality is the call to die to self and the world to be reconciled back to God to live a spiritual life of faith, praise, worship, and come into unity with God and man through His Son Christ Jesus.
• Salvation is just like signing up and joining the Armed forces for a new life and its encounters in the natural world. Your cost is to give up your livelihood and “fun” to become a conditioned soldier that will honor, defend, and fight for his/her country.
• This became a choice to pay this cost by forsaking your plans, ideas, family, and all the other devices of your heart that you had hoped to achieve.
• Then the call to serve in God’s Army was heard, acknowledge, and accepted. The cost of true spirituality here is a spiritual regeneration, a renewing that requires all cost.
• Your cost is self-sacrifice, self-denial, leaving all, and be disciplined to be discipled into God’s plans, purpose, and claims first according to His front-line soldier Jesus the Christ.
• The cost of true spirituality will transform you into becoming not only a good soldier in God’s Army but a Son of God.
• Our spiritual birth should unite us to Christ’s birth, burial (death) and resurrection.
• The cost of your true spirituality in Christ you must be willing to deny yourself, pick up your cross daily and follow Christ and His examples. (St Luke 9:23-24).
• Your faith must be His faith in God to believe Him and follow Him because you do not have a faith of your own that could believe in Christ.
• To think as one like all soldiers you had to, or you must conform to be transformed into being the ideal armed forces soldier with generations that go way back to their established beginnings. That is transformed into a soldier’s words, deeds, actions, and thoughts!
• You had to walk like a soldier and act like a soldier in behavior, mannerism, character, etc. You must change to conform to the new transforming of you into a soldier.
• Well, it is the same in Salvation you must be willing to change to conform to God’s process of transformation for His Glory, Honor, and Pleasures. Your allegiance changes here!
• To become as a son of God you/we must become the spiritual portrait of Jesus, with the same mind, heart, character, desires, pleasures, obedience, faith, and fruit bearing methods to demonstrate and exemplify the true spirituality of Jesus the Christ on earth individually and corporately. There is no other way!
• The cost of true spirituality is to take on the same order of rejection, being slain, and resurrection that was necessary for Jesus Christ to redeem all mankind in His substitutionary death to apply it to your new life as a new creature in Him.
• This same process must take place for each of us by taking up your cross and following Him. This is not an inheritance because all flesh must be put to death/crucified.
Romans 8:2-4 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
• The call to live in true spirituality is a spiritual death to be spiritually resurrected just as Christ Jesus’ death made the way for us all through His resurrection.
• The cost of true spirituality involves freedom from the old nature’s past and its bonds of sin to live a spiritual life delivered, sanctification, a life of praise, worship, and gratitude in our relationship with God and the Church.
• The cost of true spirituality is the Church demonstrating how Christ has supernaturally redeemed and restored us back to the Father.
• True spirituality is an individual thing.
• True spirituality in the Body of Christ cannot be true without the assembling of God’s people together corporately to demonstrate true spirituality to one another and to the watching world.
Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

• God’s cost for true spirituality for the renewal or regenerating of your soul and its destiny was simply made and put in St John 3:16-17.
16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
• Salvation is only through Jesus!
• God sent a divine messenger that would not fail, fall, nor cause others to fail or fall in Him and would not be influenced, controlled, and possessed by men and possessions.
• Jesus’ cost for true spirituality for all mankind and that is whosoever will.
Romans 8:2-4 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Galatians 3:13 13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
• Christ Jesus paid the full cost to free every soul from the curse of the law and in your trying to live morally good.
• Christ Jesus paid the price so that the promises of Abraham would come to all souls of the world through Him and that we will receive His promised Spirit by faith.
• But remember this is a process!
• Your cost of true spirituality in Christ is to gain through all your loss:
St Mark 10:28-30 28 Then Peter began to say unto Him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee. 29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, there is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My sake, and the gospel’s, 30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
• Your possessions will have persecutions in this world with eternal life in the world to come. So, don’t get caught up over your stuff and lose eternal life.
• Your cost is without excuses!
• Your cost is to pick up your cross and follow Christ.

In closing,
• Are you willing to pay the cost that Jesus paid for all mankind? Are you willing to pay that same cost for others, not just your flesh and blood relatives, but for souls you don’t even know?
• Have you counted the cost of true spirituality in Christ Jesus?
• True spiritual cost is God’s cost without you incorporated!
• Are you still paying the cost to serve sin and bondage because you are still dead in sin? Or has your debt been paid in full, you have totally surrendered, and are dead to sin; totally surrendered your life, lifestyle, and Will over to the Lord’s way of Kingdom life, lifestyle, and His Will?
• Every day is an evaluation as a soldier in the Army of God, so as it is in the natural, so it is in the spirit.
• True spirituality requires launching out into the deep, where the deep calleth the deep.
• True spirituality does not carry fear, but love, power, and a sound mind in Christ.
• Are you willing, obedient, and faithful to your tour of duty with the Lord of Lord and King of Kings since you’ve been redeemed, called, and chosen?
