- Imagination is defined as thought as the prelude (an action or event serving as an introduction to something more important; introduction; voluntary) to action, frequently in the sense of plotting or devising evil.
- This is the imagination of the heart that we were born in and with. (Genesis 6:5-6).
- Imagination is the faculty or action of forming new ideas, or images or concepts of external objects not present to the senses; the part of the mind of the heart that imagines things; the ability of the mind of the heart to be creative or resourceful.
- James 1:14-15 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
- This is what happened in the Garden of Eden in Genesis 3:1-11 when Adam ate of the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil, their eyes were opened, and it caused a spiritual death. It started with temptation.
- Temptation is designed to attract the imagination of the heart of Man. It did so then and is still proceeding today in the hearts of many.
- Temptation is used as a solicitation to evil and when being tested in trials.
- The Will of Man works on the materials of memory and his preference. He is born in sin and not satisfied with the spiritual principles of God and His nature (image)
- We are literally captured by what captures our imagination. Selah.
- This is why we as born-again believers need spiritual discernment with Wisdom, so we won’t rely on external factors, materials, or past objects to make choices, decisions, or judge.
- The imagination of the heart refers to the inner thoughts, desires, and intentions that originate from within a person. (St Matthew 15:17-19)
- In these inner thoughts, desires, and intentions we tend to think and believe that no one sees or know what we are imaging in our hearts, but God does. (Jeremiah 17:9-10).
- The imagination of the heart is used to describe the deep-seated ideas and emotions of man that shapes his actions and views, more so naturally, then spiritual.
- The imagination of the heart can be seen as the creative and emotional core of a person, where dreams, aspirations, and even moral judgments are formed.
- The imagination of the heart of man is a poetic way of acknowledging the powerful role that our inner life plays in shaping who we are and how we interact expressively, figuratively, formal or informal, etc.
- But the new regenerated heart renews, transform the inner man by reconciling him back to the Father and His Will verses the preferences chosen by the natural man and his external Will and ways.
Genesis 6:5-6
5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
- Highlighting the inner thoughts and intentions and how inherently (something that is stuck in or belongs to the nature of something else; in a way that exists as a natural or a basic part of something) flawed they are.
- The heart’s imagination can influence behavior for good and evil.
6 And it repented the Lord that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Hin at His Heart.
Genesis 11:6 And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
Proverbs 6:18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief
4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
Romans 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.
Ezekiel 36:26-27 This is that regenerated heart that every born-again new creature should obtain from the Spirit of God through Jesus.
26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
27 And I will put My spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes, and ye shall keep My judgments, and do them.
Jeremiah 17:9-10
9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
10 I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
St Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of is heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
St Matthew 15:17-19
17 Do not ye yet understand that whatsoever entereth in at the nouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness blasphemies:
20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.
2 Corinthians 10:5-6
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when you obedience is fulfilled.
- As born-again new creatures in Christ our imagination must be surrendered over to the Will of God and not to Satan and his lies.
- The evil and wickedness of the imagination is what Jesus was referring to in St Matthew 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
- Don’t let your imagination send you to Hell!
- Our imagination allows us to create, envision new opportunities, and to see beyond the present moment.
- Our imagination is in our soulish realm and is used through the sense of sight in the natural realm and faith in the spirit realm.
- Our imagination gives us the spiritual ability to imagine and conceptualize ideas that do not yet exist.
- But because of sin our imagination has become evil and wicked so that we tend to associate it with fiction.
- The imagination of the heart of Man took a powerful blow from sin so that only the Spirit of God through Jesus could resuscitate Man and bring him back to a spiritual life.
- Your imagination must be the spirituality of God because it is critical to your relationship with Him and for His purpose in you in the earth.
- Our imagination when spiritually controlled by the Spirit and Will of God through Jesus will enable us to spiritually see things that are eternal to comprehend the eternal reality of God and His Will for us individually and corporately, as well as in one another.
- Part of your soul’s battle is within the imagination of your heart.
- Satan counts on you to wrongfully perceive and or interpret his devices and tactics through false ideas and beliefs through delusions of your imagination.
- Our imagination consists of summarizing pictures, images, stories, and narratives that control our convictions.
Amen
