Introduction to spiritual truth
Roman 8:6-8
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
• There is a conflict of the Spirit with your flesh. So, whatever you are feeling in or through your flesh cannot please God.
• What can we/you do to resolve this conflict? Galatians 5:16-17 16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
• Carnal minded leaders draw what is in them.
• Carnal minded believers draw what is in them also.
• Weak minded leaders draw and breed weak, carnal minded believers.
• Carnal minded leaders and believers still have, operate in, and function in their uncrucified flesh.
• Crucifying the flesh (your flesh) means to put to death your flesh sinful desires and passions along with its lust, practices, and behaviors that will keep your soul from being awakened and back in reconciliation with the Father.
• The guaranteed effective way to crucify your flesh is to ask the Lord to put you or let you go on a fast. Not a fast to lose weight or because the doctor told you to but to fast to kill the Will of your flesh and its lust and desires.
• Your flesh keeps your soul from being awakened by the heard Word of God so you can fellowship with the Father.
• Flesh is carnal and full of carnality with the intent to keep you from ever reaching or striving to become the spirit being that you are encased in a human body to portray and demonstrate just like Jesus did when He was in a human body.
• Your flesh is all natural, earthly, and human.
• Your spirit is all supernatural (spiritual), heavenly, and divine and it only communicates with the Spirit of God through His Word.
• The Word teaches that if you live after the flesh, you will die, but if you mortify the deeds of the flesh through the Spirit, you will live.
• After is defined here as following, behind, off the back of.
• Carnal relates to or given to crude bodily pleasures and appetites. Characterized by things that belong to the old nature of sin.
• Carnality means living life consumed by satisfying fleshly desires, feeding selfishness while serving the body and starving the soul and spirit.
• Carnality is following the inclinations, impulses, promptings, or expected behavior of the old human nature triggered by the control, manipulation, and influence of the 5-senses.
• Carnal minded leaders and believers know the Salvation jargon.
• Jargon is special words and phrases that are used by particular groups of people associating with the righteousness of God making it difficult for others to understand.
• This type of jargon is having a memorized rehearsed memory of the Word of God with a familiar spirit imitating special wordings and expressions of the Spirit of God through traditions and religions.
• They will dance and skate around spirituality with a form of godliness that denies the true transforming power of God through Jesus.
• Carnality operates in the flesh and through the flesh to influence and control the human man through his 5-senses.
• When we reject the spiritual knowledge of God and His Will that will transform us into a new creature carnality steps up to fill your VOID.
• Carnal minded leaders and believers are DEVOID of the Spirit of God and His Will, whereas to know Him and His Will, you must know Him through your spirituality.
• Devoid means completely without, empty, or destitute; not possessing, untouched by, void, or destitute.
• All carnal minded believers are devoid of the ability to surrender their ALL wholeheartedly to the Will of God.
Jude 19 these be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
• A carnal minded believer is one who lives according to their flesh and its sinful nature by being dominated by its selfishness, self-willed, self-seeking, self-focus, and self-centered seeking self-pleasures through its lusts, habits, practices, and behaviors.
• Carnal minded believers focus on the physical world, its cares, and its affects and not on their spirituality syncing with the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.
1 Corinthians 3:3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
• To be spiritually minded is to surrender your Will, mind, and emotions to the affections and attention of the Spirit of God, the things of God, and the heart and desires of God for them.
• Carnality’s works and fruit are all the flesh.
Galatians 5:19-21
• The works and fruit of the Spirit are of the Spirit and His influence.
Galatians 5:22-23
• To be carnal IS NOT just sexual, but the nature of the flesh is sensuous.
• Sensuous means affecting the senses rather than the intellect.
• Flesh uncrucified is sensuous.
• Flesh that is uncrucified and is sensuous needs happiness, fun, excitement, arousing, erotic, sexual, seductiveness.
• Flesh operates through the pleasures of its lusts through the gratification of the 5-senses.
• This is where many believers operate through their feelings to try and feel their spirituality when in fact all they are doing is trying to do is access the Spirit of God by heaping up pleasure for their flesh and its lust.
• The word sensuous implies gratification of the senses for the sake of aesthetic pleasure.
• Aesthetic means concerned with beauty or the appreciation of beauty with themselves.
1 Peter 3:3-4 3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; 4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
• The outward man (male and female in gender) adorning does not matter that is the styling of your hair, your nails, your make-up, your jewelry, your clothing, but it is the adorning of the inward man is where the real beauty of you and me lies.
• Quoting scripture and memorizing scripture does not keep you from being carnal.
• Carnal minded believers CANNOT obey the Word as well as not believe in the Word.
