Apostle Tracey Robinson
Benefits of being spiritually pruned.
- Spiritual pruning enhances spiritual growth by removing whatever and all that will hinder your spiritual growth in Christ Jesus.
- Through God’s pruning process, we are refined and strengthened, becoming more resilient in our faith.
- Pruning also helps us to prioritize our focus on what truly matters. By letting go of distractions and unnecessary baggage, we can redirect our energy towards the things that align with God’s purpose for our new life in Him.
Colossians 3:1-2
1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Examples of pruning
- Spiritual pruning can take the form of suffering, sacrificing, or hardships as the Lord delivers you from yourself.
- For example, in your marriages when the two does not become one in Christ because one wants to love God and the spouse does not.
- The Bible says that the two has become one flesh, so then they are no more two (twain means two or both). (St Mark 10:8-9; Genesis 2:24).
- For example, loss or grief, disappointment, or hopelessness or circumstances that just seem unfair are forms of pruning in the lives of believers.
- For example, being confronted by our own sin triggered, influenced, and controlled by the issues of our old life and lifestyle.
- Coming to Jesus to accept His Will and Way is not a way that is pleasing to the Will of man.
- Coming to Jesus is a sacrifice with the sufferings to rid you from the bondage of that old nature as you are being transformed to your new nature as a new creature that is required by the Spirit of God.
- Pruning is not a punishment, but a requirement of God for you and me to spiritually grow to live according to His Will and no longer our own.
- Only the Spirit of God can refine the life of every believer that comes to Jesus and accepts Jesus as being Lord over their whole self.
- Only the Spirit of God can remove the impurities of sin that we were all born in to enhance spiritual growth to our soul and to cause us to become the fruitful branches that we are called to be in Him.
