Apostle Tracey Robinson
St John 15:1-7; Galatians 5:22-23
- Spiritual pruning is for every born-again believer that is being transformed to be a new creature in Christ Jesus.
- Jesus used the metaphor of pruning to describe how He spiritually prunes believers to help them grow spiritually into the new creature or person in Him.
- In the natural pruning is the removal of branches from a tree to encourage new growth and better fruit from that tree.
- The Spirit of the Word of God is every born-again believer pruning process to encourage us to spiritually grow in Christ into the full stature of His nature or His image after their likeness.
- The word encourages here means to give us hope, support, and confidence in our pruning process.
- It also means to inspire others to continue in the faith of Jesus and to be about His good works. How do you inspire others? By telling them of God’s goodness toward you through His power to deliver you, sanctify you, and to make you holy in Him.
- If you have a testimony of God’s delivering power over your life you MUST tell it.
- It will strengthen others to persevere in the faith of Jesus as it helps strengthen them to follow the Will of God for their lives.
- When we come to Jesus and accept His Will to be done the pruning process is the Spirit’s cleansing agent for our spiritual growth.
- Spiritual pruning is not a punishment it is part of God the Fathers love for His children when we come to Jesus.
- God is the vinedresser who prunes the life of every born-again believer who abides in Christ and bears the fruit of Christ.
- Spiritual pruning enhances spiritual growth by removing whatever will stop, hinder, or cause you to fall or stumble while you are spiritually growing in Christ Jesus.
- The Spirit of God will cut off the branches that are dead and are not producing His fruit.
What is His fruit?
- Living a godly life and lifestyle in accordance with the Holy Spirit.
- This fruit is known to us as the Fruit of the Spirit which is the character of Jesus.
- His fruit represents a moral portrait of Christ Jesus.
