Spiritually Plateaued

Has your spiritual journey plateaued?

Apostle Tracey Robinson

  • Tradition and religion with its habits, practices, behaviors, customs, rituals, and mannerism puts your soul in a spiritual plateau.
  • It is a place of stagnation or even comfortably stuck in a routine of theatrical activities without experiencing true authentic spirituality in its deeper developments.
  • The word plateau is a state of little or no change following a period of activity or progress; to reach a state of little or no change after a time of activity or progress.
  • A plateaued life is a relatively stable level, period, or state, or condition of stability or maximum attainment which says, “I’ve gone as far as I can go!”.
  • Unlike natural, physical plateaus for example, when you exercise, your body gets used to the pattern or habit of the exercises that you do consistently. Your weight loss stalls despite maintaining a calorie deficit and routine exercises. You don’t gain weight, but you don’t lose weight either.
  • There are plateaus in everything that has a growth pattern, i.e. the stock market, in businesses that serve the public, even in the House of Prayers.
  • Truthfully, since you’ve confessed Christ and moved into His calling are you spiritually growing in your new life as a new creature in Him in the earth serving as He has commanded?
  • Did someone tell you that you were growing? Or did the Spirit of the Lord affirm your spiritual growth in Him?
  • Have you stopped spiritually growing, or slowed down, or stopped and got comfortable where you are and with what you know?
  • Being spiritually plateaued is a period or periods in a believer’s life where they are stuck spiritually at a certain level or point in spiritual growth, not experiencing nor encountering any spiritual progression or advancement according to the Word, in their relationship with God, or in the demonstration and manifestation of becoming more like Christ Jesus.
  • Not portraying the image of Christ Jesus in the earth even though they are actively practicing faith.
  • Faith will never plateau.
  • Faith in Christ will never plateau.
  • 1 Corinthians 15:14-19 Read
  • Being spiritually plateaued is when a believer knows that they are no longer spiritually growing because they practice the same habits, behaviors, and mannerism and their spirituality has become a form of godliness. They are forever learning “truth” as they call it but never coming into the true knowledge of truth and obeying it..
  • They get the same ole feeling that rises and falls during and in a certain setting that feels good.
  • Being spiritually awakened through the heard Word of God is a MUST.
  • Your soul is awakened by the Spirit of the Heard Word.
  • Romans 10:17 So, then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
  • Romans 10:9-10 is your spiritual confession of faith in Christ Jesus, and this is your soul being quickened to come alive to hear.
  • Spiritual growth is a MUST in Salvation for the spirit Man in you and me.
  • There are no spiritual slumps, hindrances, or stumbling blocks that God allows when you are in His perfect Will and obeying His Will.
  • If you are feeling disconnected from God or that He is a far off from you, you believe He does not hear you, etc. You are the one that is a far off from Him.
  • The Spirit of God is only afar off from you because you have not believed in His Will, trusted His Will to be done in your life, and you lack confidence in His whole process as it pertains to mankind and yourself personally.
  • James 4:7-8 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.        8 Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
  • These things are all produced in and by the flesh to reveal its human frailties but if we obey the Word of God and do as it says the flesh will have no fulfillment.
  • Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Areas of spiritual plateau:

  • Lack of spiritual growth. Your spirituality is crucial to your Salvation, your relationship with God through Jesus and with mankind. It is spiritually discerned through your prayer life, Bible study, and personal character development, that is the fruit of the Spirit being perfected in you. You are one of the first to know that you are not spiritually growing along with God and the devil because you will turn back to your old way. St Luke 9:62 no man having put his hand to the plough and looking back is fit for the kingdom of God.
  • Jesus said that the world will know that we are His disciples when we have love one to another. (St John 13:35).
  • Jesus also said, “by their fruit you shall know them”. (St Matthew 7:16)
  • Jesus told us to “pick up our cross and follow Him”.  (St Matthew 16:24)
  • Comfort zone(s). Being comfortable in the place you are in.
  • Finding fault with levels of spiritual elevation in Christ, levels of weaknesses in yourself, in your prayer never seeking the Lord for your spiritual depth in Him versus watching others to imitate and mock and criticize them.
  • No desire for the Harvest of God just flesh and blood family is your only interest for their approval to your progress in God’s plan.
  • No fellowship with the other believers, not to mention strong believers.
  • Iron sharpens iron so one person sharpens another. (Proverbs 27:17).
  • More concern and interest about the world and its affairs by trying to live a double life and lifestyle in Salvation according to how you feel and what you think and what your environment is offering.
  • No desire to evaluate yourself, pray asking God to send someone that will help you to better know and understand His Will to be done.

How to be an overcomer of being spiritually plateaued?

  • Evaluate you focus. Where is your spiritual focus as it pertains to the Spirit of God and His righteousness.
  • Stop. Praying repetitious prayers and prayers that are inappropriate and out of God’s order to just say you pray.
  • Begin. To not follow every wind of doctrine looking for a word or prophecy to suit your circumstance, situation, or issue at hand that are spiritually weak and not spiritually inclined.
  • Ask in Prayer. The Spirit of God for true guidance according to His Will and not what you feel or believe. Ask the Spirit of God for His evaluation toward you. For He knows the thoughts that He thinks of you. (Jermiah 29:11)
  • Consecrate yourself. By fasting. True fasting where you deny and give up your flesh lust, pleasures, and desires for the Will of God to be done and perfected in you.
  • Fellowship with strong believers and not weak and watered down believers that are not living a life in Christ that is strong and acknowledgeable.
  • Don’t be afraid or ashamed of not knowing.
  • The Spirit of God has transforming power to renew, restore, and rebuild you according to His Will and His perfection.
  • He develops strong, deep, tough, and more resilient new creatures in Him through the Spirit of His Word and the faith in Christ.
  • Study and Meditate in the Word and on the Word of God. Study to show yourself approved of God.

Amen
