Is the Church being influenced by the world? Or is the world influencing the Church?
Apostle Tracey Robinson
- The spiritual Church was first mentioned in St Matthew 16:17-18 when Peter’s spiritual discernment revealed to him to answer Jesus’ question asked in verse 15, But who do you yourselves say that I am?
- Simon Peter replied in verse 16 that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but My Father which is in Heaven. 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build My Church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Let’s discuss these verses of scriptures before moving on.
- Jesus told Peter he was blessed to spiritually discern the knowledge of who Jesus really is.
- The Church was not built upon Peter but built upon Peter’s confession of faith to spiritually discern the spiritual identity of Jesus the Christ.
- 1 Peter 2:3-9 KJV Amplified. Read.
- So, flesh and blood have no spiritual knowledge of who Jesus is nor the spirituality of God and His righteousness.
- Flesh and blood prophecies are not from the Spirit of God but come from the flesh, its Will, and feelings of the one that is saying God said.
- The Church is not a physical building but is a spiritual you that has been converted to be transformed into a new creature in Christ, walking by the Spirit in Christ.
- The Church is called “Ekklesia” meaning out of, to call. An assembly of called out ones.
- The true Church is composed of regenerate persons united together and united to Christ by the baptism with the Holy Spirit, is the true body of Christ of which He is the Head. (Ephesians 1:22-23). It is the Holy Temple for the habitation of God through the Spirit. (Ephesians 2:21-22).
- The true Church is one flesh with Christ (Ephesians 5:30-32) and is espoused to Him as a chaste virgin to one husband. (2 Corinthians 9:2-4).
- Is the world influencing the Church? No, not the true Church. But the church of believers that say they are born again with no evidence of conviction, conversion, or transformation is believed by many to be the Church.
- Many believe that the Church operates and functions through and in the flesh and its feelings in the knowledge of good and evil.
- Many believe that the Church is made up of individuals that live in the world and are of the world by being concerned about the current state of affairs of the world and its ungodliness by masking and massaging it with the Word of God and its righteousness to make it appear to be of the Will of God.
- Their concerns are expressed in fear and in proud, vain, and arrogance that makes them believe that they are superior rather than expressing from a spiritual discernment that holds the world, the flesh, and the devil accountable to their sin and unrighteousness toward the Spirit of God, His Word, and His Will for His people.
- Romans 12:1-2 1 I BESEECH you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, Will of God.
- It takes spirituality to live in this world and not be of this world.
Amen
